Blackburn Cycling Club are excited to advise of a cycle race series to be held within the Caribbean Business Park complex. We believe this is a positive initiative to improve both physical and mental health through reinvigorating community sport within Melbourne post COVID. The series will incorporate a maximum of 5 events spread over a minimum of 6 months. This will see partial road closures in place for all planned events. Blackburn Cycling Club continues to work with the relevant governing bodies on appropriate event dates – currently we have authority to run events on the following dates.
• Sunday 20th February
• Sunday 20th March
To minimise disruption to Caribbean Park tenants, the events are targeted to be held on Sunday mornings, commencing at 8:00am with all roads reopened by 1:00pm. To ensure safety of all competitors, a circuit covering Lakeside Drive, Caribbean Drive and Dalmore Drive has been selected, with all competitors moving in an anti-clockwise direction (See attached course Map). The first event of the series will include a significant number of school aged children, so we please ask that all tenants, visitors, contractors, and guests be patient whilst moving around the complex on the targeted dates. Blackburn Cycling club will establish appropriate and approved traffic management plans, incorporating effective signage and traffic control volunteers to ensure traffic can still access properties effectively whilst maintaining safety for all parties We understand that this may be a short-term inconvenience, however we hope that you will fully support Blackburn Cycling Club in holding these events noting the significant importance and positive impact physical activity has on the community. At the conclusion of the event, Caribbean Business Park will be restored to allow normal operations to continue post event. If you have any questions regarding this notice or the event, feel free to contact Blackburn Cycling Club on 0407 308 755. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
