Nitto Australia Launch Armbands for Causes

Nitto Australia Launch Armbands for Causes

Nitto Australia has announced the launch of their new initiative; “Armbands for Causes” at the 2019 Knox Council Sport and Leisure Awards last week. Nitto sponsored the annual event which featured guest speakers; AFL star and Brownlow Medallist, Tom Mitchell. Olympic Gold Medallist, Brooke Hanson and Ezi Magbegor from the Deakin Melbourne Boomers.

Armbands for Causes is an initiative offering up to a 40% discount for sports teams that wish to use Nitto’s electrical tape during honorary events or to raise awareness for charitable causes. The company has launched the initiative following several requests from sports clubs all over Australia who regularly contact Nitto Australia to about using the company’s electrical tape for their players to wear during matches.

Nitto Australia’s Sales and Marketing Director, Ben Mitchell said: “It came to our attention that our customer service department often receive enquiries from small to large sports clubs regarding using our electrical tape as commemorative armbands during matches. The Nitto Australia team is made up of football and netball players and passionate sports fans, so we understood the significance behind these requests and felt obliged to give something back”.

Nitto electrical tape has been used as commemorative armbands in Australia since the 1980s and this isn’t the first time the company has used their electrical tape’s reach to raise awareness of important causes. In 2017, Nitto Australia donated 600 rolls to the Carolyn Goodie Melanoma Awareness Round to encourage Australians to get their moles checked for Melanoma and donated 160 rolls to “Maddie’s Match”, a football match to promote Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, a charity that aims to raise funds for new treatments for Bone Marrow Failure. In 2018, Nitto became a corporate partner of McGrath Foundation and released their electrical tape in pink to raise awareness of breast cancer and donated $2 from each pack, culminating in a $115,000 donation to the charity.

Ben added, “Our tape is sold through our extensive distribution network, as our customers depend on our product’s reliability, safety and durability. But if a sports club or group wishes to use our tape to honour a loved one or raise awareness of a cause close to their heart then we feel we must show our support in any way we can”.

Nitto Australia wishes to partner with local community organisations to raise awareness of worthy causes and let people know that if they have a cause to highlight then simply contact them or visit https://shopnittoaus.com/armband-for-causes/ to sign up for a discount code. Nitto electrical tape comes in a range of colours to match any cause and sports clubs can be rewarded with up to 40% off their order when they purchase online.

Celebrating Spring

As part of the excitement for the Spring Racing Carnival, Caribbean Park gave away little gifts of individually wrapped roses and piccolo bottles of sparkling wine today. There were special notes inserted into 24 of the roses which acted as tickets into the Caribbean Park Melbourne Cup Sweep.

Thank you to all the businesses from around the park that came to be part of the celebration. After setting up a table full of roses and an esky full of champagne we successfully gave away the entire lot in 15 minutes. We apologise for underestimating the numbers for this event however, it’s a great lesson to learn and we certainly appreciate the activity it creates for Caribbean Park.

Congratulations to those who received an entry into the Melbourne Cup Sweep and best of luck!

About Dr Marina McPherson:

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of SurgeryFellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Bachelor of Science (Biomedical)

I am a General Practitioner with over 10yrs experience. I completed my medical training at Flinders University in 2005 and after obtaining my FRACGP, I have trained further with Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) as part of my special interest in Integrative Medicine.

Integrative medicine is a philosophy of healthcare that combines the knowledge and practices of Western medicine together with evidence-based complimentary therapies to enable each person to reach their optimal health potential. This approach involves a holistic view of the person, addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual concerns.

A special focus is placed on lifestyle and diet as this forms the foundation of health and well-being. As part of a multidisciplinary clinic, I am able to refer to my colleagues and other health care professional, as required, to reach the best outcome for the patient. I first became interested in Integrative medicine after the birth of my first child. Since then, I have practiced passionately in this way, which I find to be so much more rewarding for both my patients and myself.

My special interests include but are not limited to optimization of health, vitality and well-being, children’s health, women’s health, thyroid conditions, gastrointestinal conditions and allergies/asthma/eczema.
