Vintage and antique market specialist Lauryn Gardini has committed to the former Caribbean Gardens market pavilion for a fresh take on trash, treasure and produce. Playfully named ‘2.0’, Lauryn opens the doors to the public on Saturday November 20th 2021.

Focused on antiques, all things vintage and collectable, 2.0 will also showcase handcrafted and artisan wares as well as fresh and gourmet foods. The largest market of its kind in Victoria, 2.0 aims to leverage the rich history of Caribbean Market and bring a new audience to the already iconic premises.

2.0 Vintage Market will operate seven days a week, housing permanent stalls within the much-loved market pavilion with a traditional ‘pop up’ market set to run every Saturday and Sunday.

Forget What You Thought You Knew…
While the operation of the new market has no connection with the previous Caribbean Market, the pavilion is the perfect location for this new venture. Situated within the grounds of Caribbean Park – the largest and fastest growing business precinct outside of the Melbourne CBD, 2.0 is a strategic piece of this nano city’s continued appeal and amenity offering.

“We are so excited to bring a new market to the community in such an iconic venue. While 2.0 is a very different experience to the former market we’d love to honour the rich history of the venue. We look forward to welcoming the community to the market with a fresh, vibrant and exciting atmosphere. Each time I watch the sun set over the lake I’m overwhelmed with appreciation for this opportunity and can’t wait to open the doors,” said 2.0 founder Lauryn Gardini.

Everything You Never Expected
“The beauty of a collaborative community market coupled with a vintage and antique element means that you never quite know what you’ll find. We strive to offer our customers, stallholders and the local community something they have never experienced. Our focus is on supporting small business and the local community, which we feel is more important now than ever.” “While the impact of COVID-19 is still ever-present, we’ve been given the opportunity to customise the pavilion from the ground up; so when required we can easily accommodate social distancing guidelines and adapt to comply with regulations to ensure the safety of our customers, staff and stallholders. We also have an online presence and store to introduce customers to our stallholders and allow for online shopping and ‘click and collect’ purchases to ensure we safely continue to support local small business.”

“The pavilion area has a versatile function space to accommodate community favourites such as car club meets, a baby and children focused market and trash and treasure events.”

“Our vision is to welcome the community with open arms and give them something to smile about!”

The Grand Opening weekend is scheduled for November 20-21 and will include festivities and activities for the whole family, including car displays, door prizes, kids activities and gift bags. Entry will be free to the public.

“We are hoping that we’ll be able to go ahead with the dates as planned, however up-to-date information can be found on our website and social media channels.”

Stallholder enquiries are welcome and bookings are essential.
